On Thursday 25 February, the Minister for Education, The Hon. Mr James Merlino issued a media release regarding the $27.5 million Centre for Higher Education Studies. Figurehead Constructions have been appointed to build the facility. Construction will start in the coming months. The CHES will be built on land adjoining Melbourne High School and will be a collaborative partnership between Melbourne High School, other government high schools and the university sector.
The Melbourne High School Foundation has played a key role in the development of this venture, and the centre will provide the boys at Melbourne High School with a unique educational opportunity.
